The voice of Buzz Rabin will have you hanging on to every word. This goes for the songs he’s written, but as I found out it applies to when he speaks as well. A natural storyteller, Buzz Rabin is the songwriter’s songwriter. His words and melodies have resonated with the greatest singers and songwriters on the globe. Buzz proudly hails from Louisiana, a place that could be called the cradle of American music. Ringo Starr, Jerry Lee Lewis, Mel Tillis, David Allan Coe, Hank Williams, Jr., Gene Watson and Alabama are among the legendary artists that have covered his songs. In recent news, Willie Nelson interpreted Buzz’s song “I Should’ve Been Listening” on his 2019 album Ride Me Back Home. Then there’s Buzz Rabin’s own recordings. His singing was praised by Merle Haggard and many others.
When you hear Buzz Rabin sing a song, everything else disappears. During my time as an interviewer, I occasionally find myself feeling very lucky to collect and record the words of a true artist. That is the case here with the Buzz Rabin interview. Here it is folks. Welcome to it.
